The Banyan Book Club is a vibrant community dedicated to exploring the rich tapestry of South Asian literature. This session is designed to help members connect with one another, share what draws them to South Asian literature, and discuss their reading preferences and interests. We'll also introduce our first Book of the Month: The Sea Elephants by Shastri Akella, a powerful debut novel that weaves together themes of identity, family, mythology, and queer love in contemporary India.
