Youth Programs
Elementary & Middle School | Ages 5 - 13
The Banyan Tree is a place of wonder, play, and stories that reflect South Asian youth growing up in the diaspora. Our youth programs nurture curiosity, historical and cultural learning through hands-on activities, language learning, storytelling, and building lifelong friendships.

Root to Rise
Enroll your child now for Spring (January to May)
The Root to Rise program is a club, with cohorts from 4 to 13 years old, in Berkeley, CA. We bring stories of South Asian history to life through fun activities across art, mindfulness, STEM, sports, cooking, dance, and so much more. We support our youth in exploring their interests, building supportive friendships, and ultimately creating a multimedia magazine together that represents their discoveries through the program.
SUMMER!
Discover a world of fun and friendship at Camp Banyan. From dance to STEM, creative writing to music, and more, our program creates a space for young people to explore new experiences, and dive deep into their interests — all through the lens of South Asian history.
